Group of Technology in Energy and Petroleum

Development of Geomechanical Solution for the Energy and Oil Sectors

Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio)
Departament of Civil and Environmental Engineering

We have been working in geomechanical modeling analyses and laboratory tests for more than 30 years.

Geomechanical Solutions

Wellbore Construction

Thorough geomechanical analyses of wellbore stability, wellbore drilling with PDC bits, wellbore hydraulics, casing integrity, and wellbore abanddonment.

Reservoir Geomechanics

Experimental evaluation of shale and salt mechanical behavior under different confining stresses and temperatures.

Rock Caverns

Evaluation of caverns generation, rock deformation, stress concentration and challenges to well integrity in the long term.

Geological and Geomechanical Model

Build reservoir and overburden geological models populated with rock propeties, in situ stresses and pore fluid.

Rock Laboratory Tests

Petrophysical analyses, PDC, cutters rock cutting, High Temperature High Pressre (HTTP) triaxial and creep tests.

Digital Rock Ananysis

Laboratory evaluation of rock mechanical behavior, stress-strain envelope, failure criteria and constitutive models parameter calibration.

Coding

Development of user-friendly and customized geomechanical softwares.

Courses

Providing of courses from basic to advanced in geomechanical knowledge.
